Aaron Lewis - Country Boy

Acoustic Tab by Micheal Prater

I have yet to find this song tabbed correctly. All have incorrect lyrics and
incorrect chord placement. Here is the correct version.

   D C B F G A
E|-0 | -3 | -3 |-- |-- |-- |
B|-3 | -3 | -3 |-- |-- |-- |
G|-2 | -0 | -0 |-- |-- |-- |
D|-0 | -2 | -0 |-3 |-5 |-7 |
A|-- | -3 | -2 |-3 |-5 |-7 |
D|-- | -- | -- |-3 |-5 |-7 |

D
Now I grew up down an old dirt road
        C B
In a town you wouldnt know
            C B
My pop's picked a place up for fifteen hundred bucks
       C D
Back in 1964

D
My grandfather was a drinker
             C B
Back in the day he put em down
        C B
But a war is known to change a man
         C D C B
And the whiskeys known to change a man but...

            C D
Thats not me
         C B C D
I rarely drink from the bottle but Ill smoke a little weed
        C B
I still live in the sticks where you wouldnt go
     C D
In a town of twelve hundred off an old dirt road
      C B C D
And a country boy is all Ill ever be....

D
Now its been twelve years since I sold my soul
        C B
To the devil in L.A.
        C B
He said sign your name here on the dotted line
         C D
And your songs they all will play

D
He set up shop on Sunset
          C B
He put me up at the Marquis
             C B
He said you want to sell a million records boy
C D
You better listen to me

         C B
He said change your style, whiten your smile
          C D
you could lose a couple pounds
            C
And if you want to live this life
            B
You better lose that wife
      C D
Do ya need your friends around?

            C B C D
I said.. No thats not me
           C B C D
Cause the biggest things in life are your friends and family
      C B
And I like my jeans and my old t-shirts
     C D
and couple extra pounds never really hurt
      C B C D
And a country boy is all Ill ever be....

       F G D
Cause Hank taught me just how to stay alive
              F G D
Youll never catch me out the house without my .9 or .45
             F G
I got a big orange tracker and a diesel truck
  D
My idea of heaven is chasing white tail bucks
          F G A
And as a country boy I know I can survive

D
Now two flags fly above my land
            C B
That really sum up how I feel
           C B
One is the colors that fly high and proud
    C D
The red, the white, the blue

 D
The other ones got a rattlesnake
        C B
with a simple statement made
       C B
"Don't Tread On Me" is what is says
         C D
and I'll take that to my grave

          C B C D
Because..... this is me
             C B C D
Im proud to be American and strong in my beliefs
          C B
And Ive said it before but Ill say it again
        C D
Cause I never needed a government to hold my hand
          C B
And Ive said it before but Ill say it again
          C D
Cause my familys always fought and died to save this land
      C B C D
And a country boy is all I'll ever be....

I don't see ONE problem with this tab. It's about damn time someone got the lyrics right too. Great work man. Now, if only I can tab the second guitar, and combine it with your chords, and we'd have a complete tab.

5 Stars nonetheless!

Very good tab EXCEPT .. B chord is not a B ... It's a G...try it ... It sounds better to me .. And of course half step down too...
