I think there's an error in the verse part (robbed of home, robbed of pride, still he spared our lives).

The palm muting isn't always 2 on the 6th string right? I hear it higher in the actual song.

It seems to me like it's an open muted 4th string (unlikely) or a mute on the 5th fret of the fifth string.

No, you're wrong. If you listen carefully through some good headphones you can hear it stays on the 2. It's the bass guitar that is quite loud that gives the impression of it being higher. I'm 99% sure on this :P
