Tabbed by rubyrod7 for UG, I tried to line up
the chords with the timing of the lyrics, but
it's difficult to do, 99% of it should be right though.
Just listen to the song for timing. Thanks
Capo on the 2nd fret
Intro: G, D, Em7, Cadd9, D (x2)
[Verse 1]
G D Em7 Cadd9 D
Lately I, I been headin' for a breakdown
G D Em7 Cadd9 D
Everytime I leave my house, it feels just like a shakedown
[Pre-Chorus]
D
Between the
Em7 D G Cadd9 D
Streetsweepers and the pushers are the lawyers who may as well be butchers
Between the
Em7 D G Cadd9 D
Small timing hustlers who all seem to feed upon each other
[Chorus]
Cadd9 Em7 D
Ooooh God, why you been
Cadd9 Em7 D
Hangin out in that ol' violin
While I've been
Cadd9 Em7 D
Waitin for you... to pull me through
Intro: G, D, Em7, Cadd9, D
[Verse 2]
G D Em7 Cadd9 D
Lately I, everytime I try to lie down
G D, Em7 Cadd9 D
Well my mind just gets away, I can't even close my eyes now
[Pre-Chorus]
D
Between the
Em7 D G Cadd9 D
Big Fish ambition and the lovers using words as ammunition
Between the
Em7 D G Cadd9 D
Wood planks I've been pacing and this impossible dream that I been chasin'
[Chorus]
Cadd9 Em7 D
Ooooh God, why you been
Cadd9 Em7 D
Hangin out in that ol' violin
While I've been
Cadd9 Em7 D
Waitin for you... to pull me through
G, D, Em7, Cadd9, D (2x)
Cadd9 Em7 D
Ooooh God
Cadd9 Em7 D
Ooooh God
[Chorus]
Cadd9 Em7 D
Ooooh God, why you been
Cadd9 Em7 D
Hangin out in that ol' violin
While I've been
Cadd9 Em7 D
Waitin for you... to pull me through
G, D, Em7, Cadd9, D until it fades out
hey, beautiful song & transcription; the only problem i've noticed while playing it is the line
"Big Fish ambition and the lovers using words as ammunition"
simply needs all the chords (except the leading Em7) moved up 2 beats, i think -
i.e., it changes to D during 'ambition' and G during 'lovers', etc etc, but just for that ONE line; everything else sounds perfect to me! seriously good job with the timing otherwise. it's a tiny issue, but has confused me while playing it, so i figured i'd post this in case it helps anyone else.
anyway great job and thanks!
