i was surprised to see nobody had tabbed one of the greatest songs off the greatest
of a great band! this tab lies somewhere between chords and tabs, as its goal is a balance
accuracy, ease of play, and sounding sweet on a single guitar even though the full
arrangement has like two
and a piano and some bells and god knows what else.

INTRO x 2

   C                 Em
e||----0-------0---------0-------0---------------------||

A||3-3---3---3--333--2-2---2---2--222------------------||
E||------------------0-0---0---0--000------------------||

notes: the timing of the main riff (G 020 e0 G020) is accurate, but feel free to strum
rest of the chords out (EA and EAD) as you please. The Em carries into the beginning of
verse.

B||1-------0-------------------------------------------||
G||0-------0-------7-------2---------------------------||
D||x-------0-------7-------x---------------------------||

E||--------3-------6-------1---------------------------||

     C                                  G
This city has lost a certain holds inside
   Bbm7                                         F
It feels so worn being chained here to this life
     C                                      G
I've been around and seen one hundred scenes
      Bbm7
Where those who dare to tread the wheel
F
One day find out what's behind that hill

notes: A# is perfectly fine too, i just have a weakness for major 7ths.

INTRO x 1 (make sure you start the intro right after you start singing "hill"--listen to
song for the timing)

VERSE 2

      C                                   G
Spend half a life deciding what went wrong
Bbm7                                    F
Trying to find out what took you so long
  C                                              G
Until you feel it's all part of some crazy scheme
   Bbm7
It conjures in your memories 'til
   F
You discover what's behind that

CHORUS x3 (only sing the first time)

   Aadd9   Em      F       G
e||3-------3-------3-------0 or 3---------------------||

A||0-------2-------3-------x--------------------------||

INTRO x 1

VERSE 3

You picked me up and we went for a drive
Bbm7                                      F
Into the stained glass cavern of the night
    C                                       G
You turn to say, your eyes fixed on the rows
Bbm7
Take me from this place I know
    F
The ruined landscapes that I once called

CHORUS x4 (only sing the first time)

Aadd9  Em   F     G

G||2-----2------2-----2--------------------------------||
D||0-----0------x-----x--------------------------------||
A||0-----0------3-----3--------------------------------||

notes: on the third repetition, play the F part four times instead of two. people who
with picking the F portion might want to try simply playing D (x00210) F(13x213)

INTRO x2

notes: this time, only repeat the C half of the intro four times, and play a bit slower.

for the last verse, you can change the chords to:

   C       G       Bbm7    Fm7

  C                                            G
I don't know what in this world is trying to save me
          Bbm7                                   Fm7
But I can feel its hand and it's guiding me in sign
        C
