Artist: Audioslave
Album: Out Of Exile [Bonus Track]
Song: Like A Stone
Tabber: Adam Groves

Right, been meaning to do this for a while now: this is combination of other peoples tabs,
how i've seen Chris play it on youtube videos, and how i myself have been doing so. The
hammer-on's and transition aren't necessary but they make it sound like the real thing!

Tuning: Standard

Chords: (EADGBe)
        Am (X02210)
        G (320033)
        Em7 (022030)
        F (133211)
        C (032010)
        E (022100)
        Fm (133111)
        D7 (XX0212)

* = Hammer on note 'O' at the start of the chord, as shown below:

   Em7 Am
N ++++++    ++++++
  ||||||    ||||O|
1 ++++++    ++++++
  |XX|||    ||XX||
2 ++++++    ++++++
  ||||O|    ||||||

Sometimes in the chorus there is a transition Chris plays from Am into C:

  Am* Am C7minor C
  + + + +
e|0-------0-------0-------0-------|
D|1-------1-------1-------1-------|
G|2-------2-------0-------0-------|
D|2-------2-------0-------2-------|
A|0-------0-------2-------3-------|
E|x-------x-------x-------x-------|

Intro:

Am* G E7* F X 4

Verse 1:

Am* G
On a cobweb, afternoon
Em7* F
In a room full of emptiness
Am* G
By a freeway I confess
Em7* F
I was lost in the pages
Am* G
Of a book full of death
Em7* F
Reading how we'll die alone
Am* G
And if we're good we'll lay to rest
Em7* F
Anywhere we want to go

Chorus:

Am C
In your house
G Am
I long to be
Am* C
Room by room
G Am
Patiently
F Am
I'll wait for you there
G Am
Like a stone
F Am
I'll wait for you there
E E
Alone,...

Verse 2:

Am* G
And on my death bed I will pray to
Em7* F
The gods and the angels
Am* G
Like a pagan to anyone who will
Em7* F
Take me to heaven
Am* G
Took to a place I recall
Em7* F
I was there so long ago
Am* G
The sky was bruised, the wine was bled
Em7* F
And there you led me on

Chorus:

Am C
In your house
G Am
I long to be
Am* C
Room by room
G Am
Patiently
F Am
I'll wait for you there
G Am
Like a stone
F Am
I'll wait for you there
E E
Alone,...

Bridge:

F C
And on i read
E F
Till the day was gone
Fm D7
And i sat in regret
E Am
For all the things i've done
F C
For all that i've blessed
E F
And all that i've wronged
Fm D7
In dreams until my death
E E
I will wander on

Chorus:

Am C
In your house
G Am
I long to be
Am* C
Room by room
G Am
Patiently
F Am
I'll wait for you there
G Am
Like a stone
F Am
I'll wait for you there
E E
Alone, Alone,
E F
Alone,...

Good tab of a good song. Can i suggest that when playing the Am at the beginning of the "in your house" and "room by room" lines of the chorus, you fret the 3rd fret of the high E string. I prefer to play it like that and it sounds more like the acoustic version that I've heard. Keep on tabbing!

Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah youre right, he does end on a F; prefere ending on an Am myself though.

Did try using Am7 for a while (Am with the 3 fret on the high e) but it didnt sound right going into some of the other chords and, although its hard to tell, it doesnt look like he play it that way. Personal preferance though, so try either way.
