That "A?" is basically Am still, but with the rising melody line on top Amadd6 will sound good. In fact, Am Amadd6 is a good pair of chords to play there, because you get the rising E then F# at the right place...
More about that Am.
Later in the song there is Amadd6 sort of thing happening.
But in the first heavy "bridge" bit, both places where Am is written, it's actually Dadd9/F#
