like you i think fanning is brilliant. unfortunately i'm very much a beginner who would love to play his songs (esp down
to the river) can anyone help out here? can you give some explanation about how to navigate the intro tab to the song?

i dont like it cause you have to go all the way up to the 7th fret then down to the 1st in a split second

Use the 1/2/3rd fret on the D string rather than slide up the 6/7/8th frets on the A string
