Water On Snow - Black (Colin Vearncombe)
Live electric version from the 2007 tour.

Intro - (sung without guitar)

Did I sleep? Do I dream of cold, silent water
So deep and dark
And the wires are singing our song?
Our song

As we lay back and stared into cloudless skies
And the stars up there
The wires are singing our song
The wires are singing our song

1st Verse -

Am Dm Am
Your face, now so plain, once was so lovely

Am F E
A beautiful refrain, dust with stars

	        Am Dm Am
But your smile now in disguise became a flat line

	    E7 E
And to never love again like you did before

E
Was all

Chorus -

C F C G C F
    G
Why go on with it, why go on with it?

F Em G Am
Why, to let it flow, like water on snow?

2nd Verse -

Am Dm Am
I know what you want, what you are thinking

Am F E
To drift beyond the pain and out of reach

   Am Dm Am
To sit, be safe and warm inside your sorrow

	             E7 E
And listen to the slow, slow morse tapping of the rain

E
But it says

Chorus -

C F C G C F
    G
Why go on with it, why go on with it?

F Em G Am
Why, to let it flow, like water on snow?

This is a great song and is also the first song I've tried to transcribe (and done by
so there may be some errors.
I would be interested to hear from anyone that has the chords for any other Colin
songs.
