For the intro, it isn't a G chord. It is actually a variation of a C X32033. In fact almost every G in your version should be replaced by this chord. The only G in this song is
G Am(not major) C B
Like me I see you're walking alone
Also, I'm pretty sure the verses start with an Am instead of a C. It makes the C more pronounced when you switch from Am to C in the "Like me..." line.
Hope you don't mind my nitpicking. If you try these changes I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I myself am a HUGE BOC fan! I saw them in concert a few months ago.
