Brooks and Dun: Cowgirls Don’t Cry
Capo: 2nd
Her Daddy (C)gave her her first pony
Then (G)told her to ride
She climbed (C)high in that saddle
Fell I don't (G)know how many times
He taught her a les-(Em)son that she learned(D)
(C)maybe a little too (D)well
Cowgirls don't (C)cry
Ride, baby, ride (G)
Lessons in (C)life are gonna show you in time
Soon e-(G)nough your gonna know why
It's gonna (Em)hurt every now and (D)then
If you (C)fall get back on a-(D)gain
Cowgirls don't (C)cry
She grew (C)up
She got married
(G)Never was quite right
She wanted a (C)house, a home and babies
He started (G)coming home late at night
She didn't (Em) let him see it (D)break her heart
She didn't (C)let him see her (D)all apart
'Cause Cowgirls don't (C)cry
Ride, baby, ride (G)
Lessons in (C)life are gonna show you in time
Soon e-(G)nough your gonna know why
It's gonna (Em)hurt every now and (D)then
If you (C)fall get back on a-(D)gain
Cowgirls don't (C)cry
(C)Phone rang early one morning
Her momma's (G)voice, she'd been crying
Said it's your (C)daddy, you need to come home
This is (G)it, I think he's dying
She laid the (Em) phone down by his (D)head
The (C)last words that he (D)said
Cowgirl don't (C)cry
Ride, baby, (G)ride
Lessons in (C)life show us all in time
Too (G)soon God lets you know why
If you (Em) fall get right back (D)on
Good Lord (C)calls everybody (D)home
Cowgirl don't (C)cry
I recommend playing the sus for all notes minue the Em, play as normal.
(Gsus 320033, Csus 032033, and Dsus 200233)
(Em 022000).
Also I recommend playing a Gsus in place of the C where it goes "Cowgirls don't cry" and for all ending versus leading up to the chours. Just sounds better especially when played along with the song.
