DON’T TRY – Built to Spill

Tuning: Drop D

For the main riff of the song, play the B5 chord a few times, then use a slide
for the riff on the G string.

e|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-4-------/7-\2-/4---------------------------------------------------|
D|-4------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-2------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------0-4-5-4-5-4--------------------------------------|

For the verses, just chug away on B5 for two bars, then one bar each of G5
and E5. For the bridge section (“Everyone goes on and on”) just play open
C and D chords, there’s a lot of slide going on there but that’s the basic
tonality.
