CAPO ON 3RD FRET
*note: these are just the basic chords to the song. In the actual song he spices
it up with some simple hammer-ons on the Cs and Gs*
G: [320033]
C: [x32033]
Em:[022033]
G*:[200233]
D: [xx0233]
[Intro]
G C x2
[Verse 1]
G C
Three years ago, I was so sure
G C
But now I'm not sure of anything anymore.
G
It's like the past is gripping my throat
C
And I choke
G
And I'm still hoping I'll find out
C
It's all a bad joke.
[Bridge]
D C
So don't, don't tell me it's over
D C
And don't, don't say that I'll be alright
[Chorus]
G
If I could trade twenty years
For one more with you
C
Then I would
G
I'd turn back time
Make the whole world rewind
C
If I could
Em D
If I knew that you'd haunt my dreams
G G* Em
Every time that I sleep
C
Then I'd lay my head down
D G
And I'd close my eyes for good.
[Verse 2]
G
Three years went by
C
And I thought you and I were a sure thing.
G
But as it turns out,
C
I guess I can't count on anything
G
You'd change your mind
C
And nothing is quite what it seems
G
You said forever
C
But I guess you don't know what that means
[Bridge]
D C
So don't, don't tell me it's over
D C
And don't, don't tell me I'll be alright
[Chorus]
G
If I could trade twenty years
For one more with you
C
Then I would
G
I'd turn back time
Make the whole world rewind
C
If I could
Em D
If I knew that you'd haunt my dreams
G G* Em
Every time that I sleep
C
Then I'd lay my head down
D G
And I'd close my eyes for good.
And that's it! This is a very simplified version but like I said you can always
have a little fun and spice it up :D Hope this helps!
Great tab. The only thing I can maybe, somehow, possibly hear is that there should be a D/F# (you have it as a G* but the name is D/F#) in between the G and C on the verses. So it would be...
G D/F# C G D/F# C
Three years ago I was so sure, and now I'm not sure of anything anymore.
Also, the correct name for the C chord used is a Cadd9, the Em is an Em7, and the D is actually a Dsus4.
Other than the misnaming it's a great tab man! Kudos!
it did not properly place my chords in the right area but since the song is 4/4 it is easy to find out where the chords go. lol sorry
