Wonderful Cross
Chris Tomlin
Verse 1
D5
When I survey the wondrous cross
D5
On which the prince of glory died,
D5
My richest gain I count but loss,
D5
And pour contempt on all my pride.
Verse 2
D5
See from his head, His hands, His feet,
D5
Sorrow and love flow mingled down.
D5
Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,
D5
Or thorns compose so rich a crown.
Chorus
D G D/F#
O the wonderful cross,
G D/F#
O the wonderful cross
G
Bids me come and die
D/F# A
and find that I may truly live.
G D/F#
O the wonderful cross,
G D/F#
O the wonderful cross
G
All who gather here
D/F# A
By grace draw near and bless your name.
Verse 3
D5
Were the whole relm of nature mine,
D5
That were an of-f’ring far to small.
D5
Love so amazing so divine,
D5
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
Chorus 4x
The D5s in the verse aren't right - there's definately some notes in there to mark it down as a major chord. He just plays a regular D, with the lead guitar and bass filling in some melody. This'll work, but it'd be much better using D major.

D

D
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
Chorus 4x
ok so on the verses just to let you know it's not D the whole way through necessarily. I mean it would work but if you want to change the chord with the melody it would be
D G D
Were the whole realm of nature mine
D G D A
That were an offering far too small
D G D
Love so amazing, so divine
D G A D
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
The chorus is right on. Now I haven't actually gotten the chance to listen to the song as I play it. But just from know the melody and singing along those chords work much nicer then just the D all the way through.
