Tuning: Standard - Capo 2nd
Strumming Patterns:
Verse- down, down, up, up, down up, up, down, up,
Chorus- down, up, down, up, up, down, up, up, down, up, up, down, up

Right after you strum Dsus4 twice (down, up) you switch to D and same with Em7 to Em

Edit: It's Cmaj, not Cadd9, so if you see a tab with Cadd9 it's wrong; it screws up the sound and the song

Verse:

G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
There's a funeral procession on the highway,
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
Traffic screeches to a halt.
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
There's people searching for a better way,
              G Dsus4 D Em7 Cadd9
To live their lives.
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
Johnny lived a good life, you'll hear them say
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
As tears of sadness soak the ground.
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
The reaper crept in, took his breath away,
                     G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
In the middle of the night.

[Chorus:]
Em Cmaj
We celebrate the lives of the dead,
                       G D
It's like a man's best party, only happens when he dies.
Em Cmaj
We gather 'round to pay our respects,
            G D
While their souls are still searching for the light,
                           (BACK TO VERSE CHORDS)
Searching for the light.

Verse:

G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
So please don't come to me on my dying day,
G Dsus4 D Em7 Cadd9
Just let me go in peace.
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
With all the things that I forgot to say,
                       G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
Still racing through my mind.
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
And don't you bury me six feet under ground,
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
Just burn my body in a box.
G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
And let my ashes blow with the wind,
             G Dsus4 D Em7 Em Cmaj
Out into the night.... sky.

Chorus:

Em Cmaj
We celebrate the lives of the dead,
                       G D
It's like a man's best party, only happens when he dies.
Em Cmaj
We gather 'round to pay our respects,
            G D
While their souls are still searching for the light,
                           (BACK TO VERSE CHORDS)
Searching for the light.
