note: many small (virtually all?) intra-chord flourishes and single-note runs leading
into other chords use the notes on the second and fourth frets on the fourth string (E
and F#). In some cases, where a chord is labeled “D and D/A,” a flourish involving the
above mentioned notes is actually called for. It varies on a case by case basis.
