Intro:
[C][Em][C][Em][D]
Verse 1:
[Em] [G]
See this ancient riverbed
[D] [C]
See where all our follies are led
[Em] [D] [Em]
Down by the water and down by the old main drag
[Em] [G]
I was just some towhead teen
[D] [C]
Feeling 'round for fingers to get in between
[Em] [D] [Em]
Down by the water and down by the old main drag
Chorus:
[Em] [D] [Em]
The season rubs me wrong
[Em] [D] [C]
The summer swells anon
[Em] [G]
So knock me down, tear me up
[D] [C]
But I would bear it all broken just to fill my cup
[Em] [D] [Em]
Down by the water and down by the old main drag
Harmonica Bit:
[C][Em][C][Em][D]
Verse 2:
[Em] [G]
Sweet descend this rabble round
[D] [C]
Pretty little patter of a seaport town
[Em] [D] [Em]
Rolling down the water and rolling down the old main drag
[Em] [G]
All dolled up in gabardine
[D] [C]
The last flashing lee to appear nineteen
[Em] [D] [Em]
Queen of the water and queen of the old main drag
Chorus:
[Em] [D] [Em]
The season rubs me wrong
[Em] [D] [C]
The summer swells anon
[Em] [G]
So knock me down, tear me up
[D] [C]
But I would bear it all broken just to fill my cup
[Em] [D] [Em]
Down by the water and down by the old main drag

Down by the water and down by the old main drag

Tabbed by Will Sachiksy, willsachiksy@gmail.com
its almost exact, except i noticed on the very last line, the first chord is changed to a C, before the D and final Em. pretty sure thats the correct chord there.
Sounds more than acceptable to me! even if there are little notes skipped over or minor discrepancies, it sure didnt stand out enough for me to notice when i was jamming along on my uke! thank you for the tab. ^_^
