i figured i'd start my first tab as an easy one, since i was appalled this wasn't tabbed
already. it's too easy. great beginner tune to work on singing/playing simultaneously
well as fingerpicking style. tabs and chords. enjoy!

This tab isn't accurate at all. There's many chord changes that you missed. Maybe you would fool a very naive beginner into thinking this tab was accurate. Ill give you this: you had a few things that sounded right for a second or two, maybe you got a note or two right and just got anxious to submit your first tab before someone else put one up...Please fix this if you are able!
wow, not what i expected at all. anyway, it may be my first tab, but the song is very simplistic. now, i'm not used to tabbing songs so much, but i am a practicing musician who has been playing guitar as well as other instruments for over 9 years, and i don't hear any of the magical extra chord changes you speak of. but, if your ear is so trained, and i am indeed no expert, i emplore you to at least provide some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. where do these changes take place? what are the variations? bottom line though, any gigging musician trying to add this tune to their set would do well to read this tab. but i would appreciate the changes if you have them. this is all a bunch of guitarists trying to help out other ones, right? most of the stuff i read on here is garbage. tabbed by a 15 year old with no experience. i would hardly apply that assessment to this tab. also, admittedly, the violin/cello parts are not included.
i had the amazing priviledge of seeing the decemberists at the norva last night and was literally 10 feet away from collin. and let me tell you, after that first comment i was sure to take notes when he played this song. guess what? note for note what i tabbed. no magic. just an accoustic with basic 1st position chords, a cello, piano and a violin. AMAZING show by the way. and hats off to My Brightest Diamond. stunning to say the least. --M
