It just sounds a bit more accurate to me...

Also...

during verse riff 2, the rhythm guitarist is playing what you have tabbed out, while the lead guitarist plays (from what i saw on the 45 days dvd) octaves (4 and 6 on the G and F strings, then 3 and 5)...Patrick uses a wah pedal for this part live, but it sounds fine without...
