Artist: Devildriver
Song: Just Run
Album: The Fury of Our Makers Hands
Tabbed By: Dave Bordon (dbordon@bluebottle.com)
Tuning: Dropped B (B,F#,B,E,G#,C#)
FX Used: Just metal distortion through the whole song. As it should always be!
Note: I only placed the notes, not the timing. If I tried to fit all the strumming in,
tab would not fit on the screen because Devildriver strum VERY fast.
Intro (Guitar 1)
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------|
F#|----------------------------------------|
B|-5-------3-------1-------0--------------|
Hit each note muted and with a rapid triple strike and then slow a bit to give it that
quite there noisy sound
Intro (Guitar 2)
C#|-15------13------11------10-------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------|
F#|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------|
Basically the same technique as Guitar 1
There is a third guitar that makes that howling sound, but I decided to leave it out
it's not really essential to the song, and you can just improvise it (If you have a 3rd guitarist)
Intro Part 2 (Guitar 1 & 2)
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|-5-3----3-1-----1-0-----1---3-----------|
F#|-5-3----3-1-----1-0-----1---3-----------|
B|-5-3----3-1-----1-0-----1---3-----------|
There may be some palm muting in here. Do whatever you feel like
Chorus (Guitar 1)
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|-5---5---3---3---1---1---0---0----------|
F#|-5---5---3---3---1---1---0---0----------|
B|-5---5---3---3---1---1---0---0----------|
Strum the hell out of this. A bit of palm muting and fast wrist work.
Chorus (Guitar 2)
C#|-15------13------11------10-------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------|
F#|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------|
I strum the same as the intro without the muting.
Just before the first verse (Guitar 1)
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|-5--< Bend this up slowly---------------|
F#|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------|
Verse (Guitar 1 & 2)
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|------------5-3-------------------------|
F#|-5-1---5-1------5-3--3-1---3-1----------|
B|-5-1---5-1-----------3-1---3-1--0--3-5--|
Muted, strum each
Verse Part 2 (Guitar 1 & 2)
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------|
F#|-------------3--5-----------------------|
B|-5-0---5-0----------3-0---3-0--0--3-5---|
No muting, keep strumming the top string fast.
PreChorus (Guitar 1 & 2)
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------| X2
F#|-0--1--3--5--0--1--3--5-----------------|
B|-0--1--3--5--0--1--3--5-----------------|
Play the Chorus a few times.
Play the Verse a few times.
Play the PreChorus again.
Play more Chorus.
Bridge (If that's what it is)
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------| Strum this lots
F#|-0--------------------------------------| for a while with
B|-0--------------------------------------| some muting
C#|-----------------------------------------| These are the extra
G#|-----------------------------------------| notes played. Listen
E|-----------------------------------------| to the song to see
B|-----------------------------------------| where they all fit in
F#|-5---------------------------------------| as I have not specified
B|------8-----5--3-------------------------| where they are played
The parts above and below have just muted strumming on the open B & F#
string to keep it heavy. This is less apparent when the second part is
played.
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------| This is the faster part
E|----------------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------------|
F#|--5-8888-5-----------5-8888-5-----------|
B|-----------8---5-3------------8---5-3---|
There are some muted open B's in here.
Then its more chorus related riffs till the end of the song.
The last part is like this
C#|----------------------------------------|
G#|----------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------|
B|-----5-----5-----5----------------------|
F#|-5-3---3-1---1-0---1-0-0-3--------------|
B|-5-3---3-1---1-0---1-0-0-3--------------|
x x
That pretty much covers all the riffs in the song. There are a few small changes, like
different strumming patterns at the end of the song, but this is mainly to show the
used.

Enjoy!
