Devo - Uncontrollable Urge
Tuning: Standard

This might not be exactly how it is originally played, but this is a simple way to play
that sounds very similar. The only part that sounds off is the intro riff, but it's not
far off.

If you have a problem reading that tab try copying it and pasting it in a notepad
and change the font to Lucida Console. This font has all characters the same size, so
tab
be easier to read.

There are only four different parts, I'm just going to tab them out then list the order
the bottom.

Intro Riff
e|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
B|-4-4-4h5~--4-4-4h5~--4-4-4h5~---|-5---5---5---5---5---5---5---5--|
G|-4-4-4h5~--4-4-4h5~--4-4-4h5~---|-5---5---5---5---5---5---5---5--|
D|-4-4-4h5~--4-4-4h5~--4-4-4h5~---|-5---5---5---5---5---5---5---5--|
A|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
E|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|

The 4 to 5 doesn't necessarily have to be a hammer-on, it could be a slide or simply
the "chord" being strummed, a hammer-on isn't necessary.

Main Riff
e|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
G|-9---7---6-----9---7--7--6--6---|-xx9---7---6-----9---7--7--6--6-|
D|-9---7---6-----9---7--7--6--6---|-xx9---7---6-----9---7--7--6--6-|
A|-7---5---4-----7---5--5--4--4---|-xx7---5---4-----7---5--5--4--4-|
E|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|

The x's before the E power chord are swift picking done as you move your hand back from
#C power chord. They don't have to be muted strums, they could be open notes, muteds
random notes as a slide from chord to chord, or just the E power chord. It isn't all
important.

Bridging Riff
e|--------------------------------|
B|---*---*-------*-------*---*---*|
G|---6---6---6---6---6---6---6---6|
D|---6---6---6---6---6---6---6---6|
A|---4---4---4---4---4---4---4---4|
E|---4---4---4---4---4---4---4---4|

The chords marked with a * can either be played as a palm mute or as x's or simply not
at all (I wouldn't recommend the last one).

The transition from this to either the main riff or the transition riff is identical,
all the chords are fully played as opposed to just the ones without the *'s.

Transition Riff
e|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------|--------------------------------|
G|--11~-------11---9~--------9----|-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7|

A|-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-4-4-4-4-4-4-4-4|
E|--------------------------------|

For this just play an #F power chord then strum the individual nots on the D, then A,
G strings then repeat for the E power chord, the rest is self-explanatory.

There, those are the four riffs, now here's the order:
