E B
I left Oklahoma, drivin' in a Pontiac, just about to lose my mind.

I was goin' to Arizona maybe on to California,
                                   E
where the people all live so fine.

My baby said I's crazy, my mama called me lazy,
                                   B
I was gonna show'em all this time.

Cuz you know I ain't no fool and I don't need no more schoolin',
                                  E
I was born to just walk the line.

Chorus:

E B
Livin' on Tulsa time, livin' on tulsa time.

Well you know I've been through it when I set my watch back to it,
                      E
  livin' on Tulsa time.

(Instrumental)

E
Well there I was in Hollywood, wishin' I was doin' good,
                               B
  talkin' on the telephone line.

But they don't need me in the movies and nobody sings my songs,
                                E
guess I'm just a waistin' time.

Well then I got to thinkin', man I'm really sinkin'
                                    B
and I really had a flash this time.

I had no business leavin' and nobody would be grievin'
                                 E
if I went on back to Tulsa time.

Repeat Chorus twice

*****Play with a laid back feel a.k.a the "Tulsa Sound"******

Although recorded by Don Williams, Tulsa Time was written by Danny Flowers, one of Nashville's finest writers and guitarists. Danny was on tour with Don snowed in at a Tulsa hotel watching The Rockford Files when he wrote this. The song was recorded by Don Williams and Eric Clapton.
