GRAVITY'S GONE
Transcription by Grizz
Intro: D Em G C then hold G chord
D C
I went stumbling through the fog trying to find a reason for the things
G
I told her
G D C
She woke up sunny side down and I’m still thinking I was too proud to
G
flip her over
D C
Between the champagne hand jobs and the kissing ass by everyone
G
involved
Am C G
Cocaine and rich comes quick and that's why the small dicks have it all
Em D
So I'll meet you at the bottom if there really is one
C G
They always told me when you hit it you'll know it
G Am C
But I've been falling so long it's like gravity's gone and I'm just
G
floating
Those little demons ain't the reasons for the bruises on your soul you've been neglecting
You'll never lose you're mind as long as you're heart always reminds you where you left it
And don't ever let them make you feel like saying what you want is unbecoming
If you were supposed to watch you're mouth all the time I doubt you're eyes would be
it
D C
So I'll meet you at the bottom if there really is one
G
They always told me when you hit it you'll know it
Am C
But I've been falling so long it's like gravity's gone and I'm just
G
floating
D Em G-C
Between the champagne hand jobs and the kissing ass by everyone involved
What used to be is gone and what ought to be ought not to be so hard
So I'll meet you at the bottom if there really is one
They always told me when you hit it you'll know it
But I've been falling so long it's like gravity's gone and I'm just floating
But I've been falling so long it's like gravity's gone and I'm just floating
But I've been falling so long it's like gravity's gone and I'm just floating
1st line of 1st verse, 1st chord change from G of intro is on the word "stumblin", which is a D chord. Further, in last line of 1st verse there is no chord change to Am over the word "Cocaine", but should stay in major with a D chord, which is also in keeping with the key.
In the chorus, 1st line, chord change is to G chord on the word "all", not after. similarly, the last line of the chorus mimics the last line of the 1st verse, and the changes should be "But I've been... changes from G chord to Am chord over the word "fallin'", then change to C chord at the 1st syllable of "gravity's", then change to G chord over the 1st syllable of the word "floatin'". There is no C chord at the end of that line, and it may have been put there by accident, I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure the above changes are correct, having had a bird's eye view of both Mike Cooley's and Patterson Hood's fretboards on three different occasions.
Whole song follows the same pattern as !st verse and chorus, using the work already posted with the above-mentioned changes. Have fun!!
If this is a Cooly composition shouldn't it be in D tuning
