CHORUS:

               Em
As heavy as a history book can be,
           G C G Bm
I will carry it with me, oh Lord.
                   Em
And maybe when the bitterness has gone,
              G C G Bm
There'll be sweetness on our tongues once more.

VERSE 3: Play the verse tab once.

CHORUS: Same as before.

BRIDGE:

     F C G
We'll soon forget our parents' names,
      F C G
Like dogs will drive the wolves away.
        F C
And weep with fingertips opposed,
            G F G F
Like a church where nobody congregates.

OUTRO VERSE:

Am C G F
But sweetness sings in the pasture,
Am C G F
We throw ourselves on the mercy of the earth.
Am C G F
If sand and salt have the answer,
Am C G F
Then the act itself will be louder than the word.

Am C G F
And I'll be on your side, and I'll be on your side.
Am C G F

Am C G F
And I'll be on your side, and I'll be on your side.
Am C G F

Am C G F goes on for the rest of the song

Joe

End chords go Am C G F, sorry I got it wrong, but I don't know how to update my tab.

Great tab, I'm pretty sure the Bm in the chorus should be a D though.

I want to post or [tab]
