It's not really correct.. The first part is not correct

hello i've only been playing for a couple of years. might be dumb but how do I play 9p7-7p6-7 ? this on the second row from top on the right. i know P is pull off but do I pull off on the 9th fret or the 7th on that first part i listed above? do I strike the 9th, then pull off the 9th, then hit the 7th??? these P's are all through the song but seems weird when i try to play. I don't understand. thanks steve
