Hello fellow Ultimate Guitarists!

My first guitar tab / chords - woo hoo! I don't think I have got one of the chords quite
(which I have named G* - 302010), but it sounds close enough.

If you are struggling to get the timing right, each chord letter equals 4 counts (so "C
means C is played for 8 counts). The words are written out with each line representing
breath (roughly).

Have a go and see what you think....
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Capo required on the FIRST fret (then you can sing along with the track).

C X32010
C/B X20010
Am 002210
G 320003
F 133211
G* 302010
E 022100

---Verse One---

    C C/B Am
The day that we, took out a car in the rain
       G C
Is the day you forgot how to brake
             C/B Am
And see, how quickly the picture will change
             G F
Filled with fingers and voices and teeth
           G Am
I still remember holding my hand
             G* F
Against your face just before it was splayed
           G C
Across the radio, as it played

C

---Verse Two---

    C C/B Am
And you and me are still as the scenery moves
    G
Oh, why should it stop, just ‘cause
C C/B Am
Suddenly, there’s one where there used to be two,
    G F
And everything’s quiet but then
               G Am
Looks like the speaker lived through the blow
              G* F
Still playing some compilation you made
              G Am
Feels like a lifetime sitting alone
            G* F
So I start humming along to the tape

---Chorus---

          G C
I always liked this singer, I remember
                 E F
How you were the one who told me that her name
           G C
Was either Mia or M.I.A.

C

---Bridge---

         F F
And I am thinking,
          C
How many hours ‘til I’m home?
    C F
How long do I stay in this place?
      F C
Who’s going to wash all the blood from my clothes?
C F
Who’s gonna cancel my date?
F G G
Who’s gonna cancel my date?
               F
And I think....

---Chorus---

         G C
I always liked this singer, I remember
                 E F
How you were the one who told me that her name
           G G
Was either Mia...
             F
Oh I think...

---Chorus---

         G C
I always liked this singer, I remember
                 E F
How you were the one who told me that her name
           G C
Was either Mia, or M.I.A.

C

---Verse Three---

    C C/B Am
The day that we took out a car in the rain
   G C
I thought to myself that the sky was blue
   C/B Am
As I’d ever seen it but yet
      G
Still tainted with red.....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it sounds particularly good if you choose a finger-picking pattern rather than
through the whole song.

I hope you all enjoy singing about car crashes as much as I do!
