Understanding (Sound Asleep Version) by Evanescence
Tabbed by: revan_psp (also known as ALF(s) on Evboard)
Hey, I haven't seen a COMPLETE version of this song tabbed yet. All the tabs that I've
seen only have the beginning part. This is, for the most part, correct, but I might have
missed a detail or two.
Intro:
C D Em C D Em
E -0----2---3--2---0---------------0----2----0--|
B -1----3----------0-----------0---1----3----0--|
G -0----2----------0---------0-----0----2----0--|
D -2----0----------2------2--------2----0----2--|
A -3----x----------2----2----------3----x----2--|
E -x----x----------0---------------x----x----0--|
Verse 1:
Em D C
The pain that grips you, the fear that binds you
D
Releases life in me
Em D C
In our mutual shame we hide our eyes
D Em
To blind them from the truth that finds a way for who we are
D C
Please don't be afraid when the darkness fades away
D Em
The dawn will break the silence screaming at our hearts
D C
My love for you still grows and this I do for you
D
Before I try to fight the truth my final time
Prechorus:
Em, D, C, D
Chorus:
C D Em D
Can't wash it all away, can't wish it all away
C D Em D
Can't cry it all away, can't scratch it all away
Verse 2:
Em D C
Lying beside you listening to you breathe
D Em
The light that flows inside of you burns inside of me
D C
Hold and speak to me of love without a sound
D Em
Tell me you will live through this and I will die for you
D C
Cast me not away, say you'll be with me
D Em
For I know I cannot bear it all alone
Prechorus:
Em, D, C, D
Chorus:
C D Em D
Can't fight it all away, can't hope it all away
C D Em D
Can't scream it all away, it just won't fade away
Em, D, C, D (downward strokes) (I'm not too sure about the single noted part)
Em D C D
I tried so hard
Em, D, C, D
so... you say that everybody else only tabs the beginning part, and then you proceed to only tab the beginning part and do the rest in chords (some of which are wrong), despite the fact that the song is obviously more than chords, and then think you "might" have missed a detail or 2?
This must be one half step down...
