Verse 1:

      D E
I confess I messed up, dropping "I'm sorrys"

            B G
Like you're still around

        D E
And I know you're dressed up, "Hey kid, you'll never

B G
Live this down"

      D E
Cause you're just the girl all the boys wanna dance with

    B G D D
And I'm just the boy whose had too many chances

    G B
I'm sleeping on your folks' porch again, dreaming

    G
She said, she said, she said, "Why don't you just drop dead

Chorus:

I don't blame you for being you

I set my clocks early 'cause I know I'm always late

D F# G A B
D F# G G

B G
You expect?

          D E
I'm just off, a lost cause, a long shot, don't even

B G
Take this bet

        D E
You can make all the moves you can aim all the spotlights

        B G D D
You can get all the sighs and the moans just right

But you can't blame me for hating it

Then why don't you correct it. I'd really like to see an accurate version.
