All the tabs I've seen for this intro are wrong or just seem completely senseless.  Here 
how it's played:

                     (Note: There is a fast slide right before the last four notes in 
lick.  It starts at the 8th fret of string G and stretches quickly up two frets to the 
fret.)

Play the whole line 2 times.  Then the guitar will come in.  Continue to repeat the line 
more times.  On the fouth time, a variation happens to lead into the main body of the

Hold the very last note (9th fret) for four beats.  From there, the bass line stays 
until the bridge. Right before the bridge happens, there's another variation:

So basically the variation is to hold the last two notes for half a beat longer each and 
out the doubles.
