This is a brilliant song and it sounds great on acoustic or electric guitars. If you are
an electric guitar be sure to crank up the distortion.
Notes:
- Dropped D Tuning
- Make sure you mute the low 'D' when it's not used.
- The strumming pattern is only personal preference,
if it sounds better played differently then feel free
to leave a comment, I'm open to suggestions. The
section I was unsure about with regards to strumming
was bridge 2, try it and see what you think.
- I tend to play the lower strings (A+D) a little
harder on the down strums and the light strings
(G+B+E) a little harder on the up strums. I sometimes
miss a few strings on some strums just to give a
similar sound to the way Grohl plays it on the album.
- There’s around a 50 second gap towards the end of the
song.. You'll probably want to shorten it a bit if
you're on the acoustic and if you're using an electric
guitar make sure you get some feedback during this pause.
I don't think you need to be exact with the timing, this
section is just really good for a build up.
- At the start of each section of the chorus you can
sometimes hear him slide down the fret board rather than
just strumming the open D power chord.
- Lyrics aren't 100% :S

Oops, the strumming pattern and some of the chord names have come out funny now it's uploaded, I'll try and sort it as soon as poss.
forget about the D5 at the start of the chorus, that shouldn't be there. You can fit that in at the end of some sections of the chorus if you think it sounds right, but not at the beginning.
