SWIM UNTIL YOU CAN'T SEE LAND (ACOUSTIC) - Frightened Rabbit
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tabbed by: Sam Rayner
Site: samrayner.com

This is the acoustic version of Swim played by Scott Hutchison
for offthebeatentracks.tv: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5YxtPpMMHs

I've tabbed it so it can be played with standard tuning and chords
but it sounds much better if you tune to CGDGBE and follow Scott's
versions of the chords.

N.B. Standard chord names (e.g. D) are used for simplicity but the
fingerings differ between verse and chorus! Refer to the guide below
if you want to match Scott's sound.

Awesome song. Enjoy!

Sam

G D Em C D C
We salute at the threshold of the North Sea in my mind
G D Em C D C
And the nautical board-man that drove me here to face the tide and
G C5 G G C5 G G C5 G G C5
Swim I swim I swim

G D Em C D C
Dip the toe in the ocean. Oh how it hardens and it numbs
        G D Em C D C
And the rest of me is a burgeoned man built to collapse into crumbs
       G D Em C D C
And if I hadn't come down to the coast to disappear
G D Em C D C
I may have died in a land-slide of the rocks, the hopes and fears.

   G C5 G
So swim until you can't see land |
G C5 G |
Swim until you can't see land |
G C5 G | X2
Swim until you can't see land |
    D C |
Are you a man, are you a bag of sand? |

G D Em C D C (X2)

G D Em C D C
Up to my knees now, do I wait? Do I dive?
G D Em C D C
The sea has seen my like before though it's my first and perhaps last time.
G D Em C D C
Let's call me a baptist, call this the drowning of the past
G D Em C D C
She's there on the shoreline throwing stones at my back

   G C5 G
So swim until you can't see land |
G C5 G |
Swim until you can't see land |
G C5 G | X2
Swim until you can't see land |
    D C |
Are you a man, are you a bag of sand? |

BRIDGE (X2)

G D Em C D C
Now the water's taller than me and the land is a marker line
G D Em C D C
All I am is a body adrift in water, salt and sky

   G C5 G
So swim until you can't see land |
G C5 G |
Swim until you can't see land |
G C5 G | X2
Swim until you can't see land |
    D C |
Are you a man, are you a bag of sand? |

    D C
Are you a man, are you a bag of sand?
    D C
Are you a man, are you a bag of sand?
    D C
Are you a man, are you a bag of sand?
    D C G
Are you a man, are you a bag of sand?

If you're going to play it this way, the D chord is probably something like- |200232| not |100121| as the first fret of the low C would make that a C# chord, not D.

Certainly agree with above correction.. Also, I'm pretty sure |70008x| should be |80008x| -- you can see both these corrections in the video!

Overall, good tab.. helped a lot, thanks.

RandMcNally is absolutely right of course. Sorry about that, managed to type the wrong frets. I wish there was some way to correct tabs once you've uploaded!

Babelfish, I'm pretty sure it is |80008x|, it sounds awful playing |70008x|.
