Life During Wartime
Billie Joe Armstrong

tabbed by Dr. Linus Rebar

This song protesting the war in Iraq
is played solo and acoustic by Billie
Joe Armstrong of Green Day. It's
currently available at:
http://www.cinderblock.biz/lifeduringwar.mp3

I also apologize for not knowing the
name of the chord that I have designated
C?. If you know the name of it, please
post it in the corrections of this tab.
Thanks.

G|-----5---6-------8---6--------------------------------|
D|-6---5---6---3---8---4---4----------------------------|
A|-6---3---4---3---6---4---4----------------------------|
E|-4-----------1-----------2----------------------------|
  G#5 C5 C#5 F5 D#5 C#? F#5

Intro: G#5 C5 E#5 C#5 D#5 X2

    G#5 C#5
Yeah, we say making changes
                D#5
starts in the little things you do
  G#5 C#5
Revolution begins at home
D#5
but for most of us it ends at two

F5
We're doing something
C#5
we're making changes
F5
Like changing the brand
C#5
of crap we buy
F5 C#5
We say it makes a difference
       D#5
but that's just another lie.

[Intro Chord Progression] X2

        G#5 C#5
It used to be us and them
    D#5
and you and me
           G#5 C#5
And now we can't reach our potential
D#5
without a common enemy

F5
A real war
C#5
to fight against
F5
instead of our petty
C#5
disagreements
F5 C#5 D#5
How can I rationalize my life
during wartime lie?

Bridge: C#5 C#? C#5 G#5 F#5 G#5 X3

Then: C#5 D#5

  C#5 G#5 F#5 G#5
A call to action and no reaction
C#5 G#5 F#5 G#5
Taking our lives in our own hands
C#5 G#5 F#5 G#5
Instead of sitting around and talking
C#5 D#5
about the same old shitty bands

    F5
The war's going
C#5
on right now and
F5
I'm not doing
C#5
anything about it
F5
Without a crowd I'm
C#5
not so loud
  F5 C#5 D#5
I can't do anything by myself

But that's just another lie

[Intro Chord Progression] X2
End on G#5

I don't know who that is but I figured I would just post that while I was telling you the name of the chord...

F#5/C# is the name of the chord. All right.
