The Break Up Song - Greg Kihn Band
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Brent Jacque

Tuning: E A D G B E (standard)

Here is my 2nd version of this song, I found a few big mistakes
in my other version, I sat down with it and figured it out right,
this intro should be pretty close to 100%

Intro: x2
         Am F G Am
e|---------------------------------------------------------------------|
B|----------0-1-------1-0-------------1--------------------------------|
G|--------2---------2-----------0-----2--------------------------------|
D|------2---------3-----------0-------2--------------------------------|
A|----0---------3-----------2---------0--------------------------------|
E|------------------------3--------------------------------------------|

Then the singing starts, with, to me, sounds like muted chords, they
are Am, F and G, here are the lyrics adn chords:

Am F G
We had broken up for good just an hour before

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

Am F G
Now I'm staring at the bodies as there's dancin' 'cross the floor

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

Am F G
And then the band slowed the tempo and the music gets me down

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

(Play Intro Over Again)
It was the same old song with the melancholy sound

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

(Listen for strumming)
Am F
They don't write 'em like that anymore

They just don't write 'em like that anymore

Am F G
We'd been living together for a million years

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

Am F G
But now it feel so strange (out in the atmospheres?)

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

(Play Intro Over again)
And then the jukebox plays a song I used to know

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

Now I'm staring at the bodies as they dancin' so slow

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

(Listen for Strumming)
Am F
They don't write 'em like that anymore

They just don't write 'em like that anymore

Am F G
Now I wind up staring at an empty glass

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

Am F G
Cause its so easy to say that you'll forget your past

Uh uh uh, uh uh uh uh uh

(Play Intro Over again)
They don't write 'em like that anymore, no!

They just don't write 'em like that anymore

(Listen for how many times to play the intro over)
They don't write 'em like that anymore

They just don't write 'em like that anymore
(Play Intro and fade out)
