Chorded by Dave Kelly - guyontheend@comcast.net

This is a beautiful, lesser known Guess Who song.
On the Am7 you can go back and forth from (x02010) to (x02030) to mimic the piano
melody, and on Fmaj7 from (xx3210) to (xx3230).

Chords (in order of appearance):
Am7 - (x02010)
Fmaj7 - (xx3210)
Em9 - (022032) or (020002)
Dmaj7 - (xx0222)
C - (x32010)
Bm7 - (x24232)
Bm - (x24432)
A - (x02220)
Dadd9/A - (x02232)

Am7
Don't wanna listen to my telephone ring
     Fmaj7
Or sing ding-a-ling or talk about a thing
Em9 (022032) or (020002)
Not this mornin'

Am7
I don't wanna think about the night before
     Fmaj7
Or maybe it's a bore behind that open door
Em9
Got no time for that this mornin'

Dmaj7
If I had the mind or I had the time
C
Maybe I could throw together a new kind of rhyme
Dmaj7
And tell about my warnin'

C Bm7
But it's too late now
C Bm
It's too late now
C Am7
It's too late now

Am7
I don't wanna think about a runaway Dad
       Fmaj7
That took away the only thing that I've ever had
Em9
Don't even miss him this mornin'

Am7
I don't wanna think about a cold goodbye
       Fmaj7
Or a high school buddy got a little too high
Em9
I can't help him out this mornin'

Dmaj7
Reviewers laugh at me so I go out to sea
C
And perhaps it's just as well, 'cause I'd rather be in hell
Dmaj7
Than be a wealthy man this mornin'

C Bm7
But it's too late now
C Bm
It's too late now
C Am7
It's too late now

A Dadd9/A (x02232)
Whatever happened to images, 'cause now they're gone
A Dadd9/A
And worn out phrases just keep a-hangin' on
A Dadd9/A
Whatever happened to homes as opposed to houses?
A Dadd9/A
A conversation swaying as the evening drowses
Dadd9/A A Dadd9/A
It's just like 4 6 2 O 1
Dadd9/A A Dadd9/A
It's just like 4 6 2 O 1

A Dadd9/A
Whatever happened to early morning urban skies?
A Dadd9/A
And broken faces, half with melting eyes
A Dadd9/A
Enough of riddles that just play with time
A Dadd9/A
'Cause I'm still here and I can't beg a dime
Dadd9/A A
I'm back here in 4 6 2 O 1

Dadd9/A A Dadd9/A
I'm back here in 4 6 2 O 1

                                       A
Somethin better's waitin' for me 'round the corner now
Dadd9/A A
I gotta find it and try and hang on for a little while
Dadd9/A A
Back here in 4 6 2 O 1, yeah
Dadd9/A A Dadd9/A
Mmm, there's gotta be a few small changes made

Am7
Don't wanna listen to my telephone ring
Fmaj7
Or sing ding-a-ling or talk about a thing
Em9
Leave me alone this mornin'
