I hope this is alright, I saw a few other chords for this song, and the lyrics
weren't the same as the song I had listened to. So I changed some chords and put
it to the corrected lyrics. Strum how you want to :)
D
Beyond the ridge to the left, you asked me what I want
Bm
Between the trees and cicadas singing around the pond
G
"I spent an hour with you, should I want anything else?"
D
One grinning wink like the neon on a liquor store
Bm
We were sixteen, maybe less, maybe a little more
G
I walked home smiling, I finally had a story to tell
D A
And though an autumn time lullaby
Bm A G
Sang our newborn love to sleep
G A
My brother told me he saw you there
Bm A G A
In the woods one Christmas Eve, waiting
D
I met my wife at a party, when I drank too much
Bm
My son is married and tells me we don't talk enough
G
Call it predictable, yesterday my dream was of you
D
Beyond the ridge to the west, the sun had left the sky
Bm
Between the trees and the pond, you put your hand in mine
G
Said, "Time has bridled us both, but I remember you too"
D A
And though an autumn time lullaby
Bm A G
Sang our newborn love to sleep
G A
I dreamt I traveled and found you there
Bm A G A
In the woods one Christmas Eve, waiting
jnfr :)
Best one on here, but there seems to be a glaring error - on the end of each verse shouldn't there be an 'A'?
So it would go:
D
Beyond the ridge to the left, you asked me what I want
Bm
Between the trees and cicadas singing around the pond
G A
"I spent an hour with you, should I want anything else?"
Sorry about the formatting there, the A chord was supposed to be above the word 'else'
