Subject: Jill Sobule/I KISSED A GIRL (crd)
Jill Sobule is a singer/songwriter with a flair for lyrics and
arrangments. Her self-titled debut is out on Lava/Atlantic. I recommend it
highly! Here's her first single off the album, also playing as a music
video right now.

I KISSED A GIRL
(Jill Sobule, Robin Eaton (c) 1994)
reprinted without permission
VERSE:
G
Genny came over and told me about Fred
C
He's such a hairy behemoth she said
Am
And dumb as a box of hammers
G
But he's such a handsome guy
G
And I opened up and told her about Larry
C
And yesterday how he asked me to marry
Am
I'm not giving him an answer yet
G
I think I can do better
CHORUS:
Em Am
So we laughed, compared notes
Em
We had a drink, we had a smoke
Am C
She took off her overcoat
G C Em A
I kissed a girl
G C Em A
I kissed a girl
VERSE:
So she called home to say she'd be late
He said, he worried but now he'd feel safe
I'm glad you're with your girlfriend,
Tell her "Hi" for me
So I looked at you, you had guilt in your eyes
But it only lasted a little while
And then I felt your hand upon my knee
CHORUS:
Em Am
And we laughed at the world
Em
They can have their diamonds
Am C
And we'll have our pearls
G C Em A
I kissed a girl
G C Em A
I kissed a girl
BRIDGE:
F
I kissed a girl, her lips were sweet
C
She was just like kissing me
D
I kissed a girl, won't change the world
But I'm so glad
G
I kissed a girl
(GUITAR SOLO)
And we laughed at the world
They can have their diamonds
And we'll have our pearls
I kissed a girl (for the first time)
I kissed a girl (and I may do it again)
I kissed a girl
I kissed a girl
I kissed a girl, her lips were sweet
She was just like kissing me (but better)
I kissed a girl
I kissed a girl, won't change the world
But I'm so glad
I kissed a girl (for the first time)
I kissed a girl (won't be the last time)
I kissed a girl
I kissed a girl

not bad...
but it should be capo 2, and the progression in the chorus is G C E Am.
sounds fine in no capo or capo 2... and I think it sounds best G C Em Am. And the end part changes key. It goes up somehow...
This is perfect!
