Tossed by the Wind
By: Jimmy Needham
------------------------------------

Great song; I had to get the chords out there because I went through a period of
doubting in college, but after looking into the reasons behind our faith, I'm now
more convinced than ever! Hope this song is a blessing.

God Bless.

Bsus2 C#m7 E F#
This here’s the story of Tossed By The Wind
       Bsus2 C#m7 E F#
Who went out on his own with deceptions of men
          G#m F#
He was warned by his Mama
              E B
‘Son, don’t listen to them’
    D#m7 C#m
And here’s what she said to our friend

[CHORUS]
                 B F#
Be sure that no one takes you captive
             G#m E
By vain deception of men
                     B F# F# F E
‘Cause you will find it to be tragic in the end

Bsus2 C#m7 E
To begin he was with Him
F# Bsus2 C#m7 E F#
With Him and glad
Bsus2 C#m7 E
Mr. Pure and Simple was the only one he knew
     F# Bsus2 C#m7 E F#
Oh, and all that he had
         G#m F#
‘Til he heard from the learned
               E B
‘Son, your facts are all wrong’
      G#m F# E B
The Jesus he knew got cut out of his song
G#m F# E E
Now he sings praises to Hume all day long

[Chorus]

[BRIDGE] (Down strokes)
C#m D#m
We’ve been infecting your sons and your daughters
C#m D#m
Make all checks payable to your alma mater
            C#m A
They’re training for life on their own
              A (let ring)
So far from home

Bsus2 C#m7 E F#
This here’s the story of Tossed By The Wind
           Bsus2 C#m7 E F#
Who was cursed for his thirst for the wisdom of men
       G#m F#
Now broken and hopeless
     E B
He heard from within
  D#m C#m
A still small voice calling to him
 D#m C#m
‘Lies always fail in the end
D#m C#m
Truth will prevail in the end
D#m C#m7
My grace is sufficient my friend’

[Chorus 2x]
