Someone is playing the wrong notes. Try starting off on the 7th fret of the A string. Like this:
A|-7-----5
E|----7-7-
And then go up a string, like this:
D|-7-----5
A|----7-7-
And then the high part, on the same strings...
D|-9-----7
A|----9-9-
And all of this pretty much repeats through the song.
