Capo 4th fret

3 Minute Song – By Josh Wilson
Tuning- Standard

Intro
G B7 Em C

Verse 1:

G B7 Em C
I tried to write a song, and keep it 3 minutes long
G B7 Em C D
Get in, get out, nobody gets hurt
G B7 Em C
And I tried a thousand times to fit God between the lines
G B7 Em C
But I’m finding out that doesn’t really work

Pre-Chorus:

D D/C G/B Am7
I just don’t have the words to say, cause words only get in my way

Chorus:
G Am C D
I must apologize, I have the hardest time
G Am C D
Finding something to define a God that I can’t define
G Am C D Am7
And even if I could, it would take way too long
Cm
If all I’ve got’s a 3 minute song

Verse 2:

G B7 Em C
I’ve got a hundred metaphors, and if I had a million more
G B7 Em C D
I could never ever seem to sum this up
G B7 Em C
Besides, how can some melody communicate eternity?
G B7 Em C
It’s like trying to fit the ocean in a cup

Pre-Chorus:

D C Am7
I just don’t have the words to say, cause words only get in my way

Chorus:
G Am C D
I must apologize, I have the hardest time
G Am C D
Finding something to define a God that I can’t define
G Am C D Am7
And even if I could, it would take way too long
Cm
If all I’ve got’s a 3 minute song

Bridge:

Em D Em A
I would like to dumb this down to 3 chords, or maybe 4
C Cm
But I’ve tried and I can’t and I won’t cause there will always be more
G Am C Cm
So I apologize,
G Am C Cm
I can’t seem to get it right

Chorus:
G Am C D
I must apologize, I have the hardest time
G Am C D
Finding something to define a God that I can’t define
G Am C D Am7
And even if I could, it would take way too long
Cm
If all I’ve got’s a 3 minute song

I think the Em should be an Em7... still sounds good as Em, but I think Em7 sounds slightly better... Just my opinion. Also, in the chorus, I think the Am might be an Am7.

Great tab, thanks for writing it out, you did an awesome job. :D
