Hey, just a thought...
Goddard uses his hybrid Drop B/Standard tuning on Themata... and I've rad in an interview that Hoss actually plays in C tuning most of the time.
Just a thought, and this could make things massively easier because those open chords are hell uncomfortable, especially the C chord in the chorus as I can't fret it properly with the headstock in the way... The tuning's a bit screwed to play in lol.
I'm guessing Goddard mainly plays power chords, but gets that whole extended range thing for his lead sound. Hoss would use C tuning, and say 111010 would just become your open E shape to give it that nice full sound.
