This is the first song of the Murder Trilogy The Killers been talking about for the last
years, finally released on the "Sawdust" album last month. The story continues with
Show" then "Jenny was a Friend of Mine" off the "Hot Fuss" album. This is my first tab
ever done for the public and I'm hardly a brilliant guitarist so please understand that
is less then perfect. But I wanted to learn this song and give something back for all
tabs I've taken.

They're using some funky chords (diminished, i think?) on the run up during "Before you
goodbye" and the subsequent pause that I can't quite pin so if someone figures them out,
amend this tab. What I have down there is definitely not correct. Besides this part, I
I've got the roots of the song down.

Besides, I don't see other tabs for this song so it's better then nothing!

The main chords at the beginning are played muffled, almost rockabilly/country style
chords on and off the 7th note. I can't remember what this technique is called but it's
so:

   C#
e|------|
B|------|
G|------|
D|-6--8-|
A|-4--4-|
E|------|

   F#
e|------|
B|------|
G|------|
D|------|
A|-4--6-|
E|-2--2-|

   Ab
e|------|
B|------|
G|------|
D|------|
A|-6--8-|
E|-4--4-|

   Bb
e|------|
B|------|
G|------|
D|-3--5-|
A|-1--1-|
E|------|

The G#/A chord is just a G# bar chord but with the 6th sting on the 5th fret/A. This is
probably wrong but it's closer then a full A chord.

Intro:
C# (4 measures)

C#
Shakin' like the Devil when she lets me go
					F#
Got a new place, and how it's so much better
C#
Falling over myself, the televisions' on,
		Ab Ab/D
I turn it off and smile
Bb F#
Oh, Jennifer, you know I always tried
G Ab A Bb
Before you say goodbye

AAAAAG#

C#
Leave the bourbon on the shelf
		    F#
And I'll drink it by myself
		Bb
And I love you endlessly,
	Ab F#
Darling don't you see I'm not satisfied
		Ab
Until I hold you tight
			C#
Give me one more chance tonight
			F#
And I swear I'll make it right
			Bb
But you ain't got time for this
			Ab
And that wreckin' bell is ringin'
	F#
And I'm not satisfied
	Ab
Until I hold you

C# (not muted) F#
Jennifer, tell me where I stand
	Bbm Ab Ab/A
And who's that boy holdin' your hand?
Bb F#
Oh, Jennifer, you know I always tried
G Ab A Bb
Before you say goodbye

AAAAAG#

Leave the bourbon on the shelf
And I'll drink it by myself
And I never liked your hair or those people that you lie with
But I'm not satisfied
Until I hold you tight
And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see I can't be satisfied
Until I hold you tight

Leave the bourbon on the shelf
And I'll drink it by myself
And I love you endlessly,
Darling don't you see
I'm not satisfied
