this might work but the actual way she plays it is with an high strung tuning. Some time ago I commented the video of this song played at Glastonbury asking which brand was the one of the blue guitar she was playing. Marcus Hamblett himself (the one who plays the mandolin) answered me saying it was an Art & Lutherie high strung, so I'm pretty sure about that. But it isn't easy, you have to buy the strings of a 12 strings guitar and chose some of them and etc etc, whatever, peace xx
how are you meant to get the G up to a C without it breaking? Or if you're tuning it down to a C then it bounces as if it's too loose and it would be the same C as the D string has been tuned down to- make sense? X) a favourite song of mine and would love to play it, but need to wait until i get new strings, do you need special strings for this sort of extreme tuning?! and could you specify whether the strings are to be tuned up or down. thanks ~x~
Try playing this in open D (DADF#AD) it seems to sound better.
