Verse 1:
C A7
What a day for a daydream
Dm7 G7
[1: What a day 4: Custom-made] for a daydreamin' boy
C A7 [acoustic guitar enters 1st time]
And I'm lost in a daydream
Dm7 G7
Dreamin' bout my bundle of joy
Chorus 1:
F D7/F# C A7
And even if time ain't really on my side
F D7/F# C A7
It's one of those days for takin' a walk outside
F D7/F# C A7
I'm blowin' the day to take a walk in the sun
G [C/G] G7 [C/G] [electric only]
And fall on my face on somebody's new-mowed lawn
Verse 2:
I been havin' a sweet dream
I been dreamin' since I woke up today
It's starring me and my sweet dream
'Cause she's the one that makes me feel this way
Chorus 2:
And even if time is passin' me by a lot
I couldn't care less about the dues you say I've got
Tomorrow I'll pay the dues for dropping my load
A pie in the face for bein' a sleepy bull toad
[whistling over verse chords]
Chorus 3:
And you can be sure that if you're feelin' right
A daydream will last 'til long into the night
Tomorrow at breakfast you may prick up your ears
Or you may be daydreamin' for a thousand years
[repeat verse 1]
[whistling over chorus chords; fade]
-- another ace 60's tab from Andrew Rogers
It's hard to tell if this tab is correct, but when you whistle the tune over top (like in the song) it sounds brilliant
The chords are correct ... to some extension... just need some adjustment. Simply play the chords sharp (#) or a half
step up (same thing). So instead of playing a C, play a C#; instead of an A7, play A#7 ... etc. although, i do believe
the studio version of the song was played a bit on the flat side - just a hint - of the full sharp; nothing too
noticeable. Either that or i need a new tuner.
put a CAPO on the 1st fret...all problems will be solved!
