Subject: TAB: History Lesson Pt. 2 (minutemen)

Someone requested minutemen. Here's one. I'm in the process of
writing down some others I know.

For anyone not familiar with minutemen, they were comtemporaries
of Husker Du, Meat Puppets, Black Flag, etc, on the SST label in
the early to mid '80s. Guitar player D. Boon died in a car crash
in '85. The two rmaining members reformed with a new guitarist
as fIRHOSE.

In light of D. Boon's death, this song is very sad.

Song structure and words

(Over riff A 4x)

Our band could be your life,
Real names will be the proof.
Me and Mike Watt, we played for years,
But punk rock changed our life.

(Riff B, played 2x)

(Over riff A 4x)

We learned punk rock in Hollywood.
Drove up from Pedro.
We were f-cking corn dogs,
We'd go drink and pogo.

(Riff B 4x, then riff C, 1x)

(Over riff A 4x)

Mr Narator,
This is Bob Dylan to me.
My story could be his songs
Me as his soldier child.

(Riff B 2x)

Our band is scientist rock.
'Cause I was E. Bloom, Richard Hell,
Joe Strummer, and John Doe.
Me and Mike Watt, playing guitar.

(Riff B 4x, then riff C 1x, then riff D 1x)
