D                        D             G
Away in a manger, No crib for a bed,

     G              D           Em                A
The little Lord Jesus, Lay down his sweet head.

    D                                   D                G
The stars in the bright sky, Looked down where he lay

     G              D        A7             D
The little Lord Jesus, Asleep on the hay.

The cattle a-lowing, The baby awakes;
But little Lord Jesus, No crying he makes.
I love thee, Lord Jesus, Look down from the sky,
And stay by my bedside, 'Til morning is Nigh.

Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask thee to stay,
Close by me for ever, And love me I pray.
Bless all the dear children, In thy tender care,
And fit us for heaven, To live with thee there.

This sounds more like the less-common William J. Kirkpatrick melody, which might account for it's 2-star rating. But it
probably deserves more for those looking for that version of the song.
