Murder by Death
Steam Rising
Standard Tuning

So this is a pretty simple song, the only parts I'm not fairly certain of are the
interludes w/ the cello. For that, I've mostly had to do guesswork, but it sounds
alright, so whatever.

  Em Am B7 Dm B C
E--0--0---0---0---0--0---|
B--0--1---0---3---0--0---|
G--0--2---2---2---4--5---|
D--2--2---1---0---4--5---|
A--2--0---2---x---2--3---|
E--0--x---x---x---0--0---|

         Em Am B7 Em
Am B7
There is steam rising from the gravel on the road
There is black coal filling up our homes
It seeps through the window cracks, It slips through the floorboards
The mortar is turning black, the foundation starts to crack
Honey pack your bags and go

Interlude [Dm--Em--Dm--Em] end (i think) on Am--B7--

         Em Am B7 Em
Am B7
There is steam, rising, from the belly of the beast
There is hell on earth there are demons beneath the sheets
They see through the window cracks they slip through the floorboards
The mortar is turning black, the foundation starts to crack
Honey pack you bags and go

Interlude [Dm Em Dm Em] Cello Solo, Em--B--C--B
^repeat interlude twice before going into solo, which repeats four times

Vocals in this next part are at 2x speed
              Em Am B7 Em

There is black coal filling up our homes
It seeps thought he cracks in the windowpane It slips through the floorboards and up
through the drain
There is steam rising from the gravel on the road
