This is Ain't It A Shame from the Nirvana Box Set Disc One. It starts out country like the last verse is their early raw punk sound. If you listen to the song you WILL get it. Remember those chords aren't one long note. You are supposed to strum over and over.

also he strums full chord on the E making it -0---

and his strum pattern is more of a (lets say we're on the B chord)
