There are many videos of this song which require a capo on 3rd fret. HOWEVER,
these are NOT the original. For the original song, place a capo on the 1st fret.
Also, please check out my cover on the song, performed on saxophone and acoustic guitar :)

Intro: A - Em - G - D X2 (Wake me if you're out there!)
Verse:
A Bm G
Through the glass in my bedroom window,
(G)
In the bushes far below,
A Bm G
I thought I saw an unfamiliar shadow,
(G)
Among the ones I so clearly know.
Bridge:
Em G A
I've been sleeping with the nightlight unplugged,
(A)
With a note on the rocking chair,
Em G A
That says I'm dreaming of the life I once loved,
(A)
So wake me if you're out there.
Chorus:
G A
Living close to the ground,
Bm E
It's seventh heaven because there are angels all around,
G A
Among my frivolous thoughts,
D G Em A
I believe there are beautiful things seen by the astronauts.
D G
So wake me if you're out there!
(Repeat intro, verse, bridge and chorus)
Bm A G
I keep my knees black and blue 'cause they often hit the hardwood floor,
A
(Wake me if you're out there),
Bm A G A
And I believe, so I'm not praying to the ceiling anymore.
(Repeat bridge, and then play the chorus TWICE)
Outro:
G A
So if you're dying to see,
(A) D G Em A D.... (Hold)
I guarantee there are angels around your vicinity
I'm sorry, I think I'm wrong in saying the original has a capo on first, I believe it's actually on the second fret - sorry if I've confused anyone :(
D G Em A
I believe there are beautiful things seen by the astronauts.
the G sounds wrong :C
Yeah I couldn't work that bit out for sure :/ for that bit in my cover I play around with a D chords but alter the note on the B string, but it still doesn't sound totally right!
