Yes for the bass, (very) optional for the rhythm guitar, as a C is already played in the D7 (B-string).

well yeah true it can be played many ways and many styles. D7 sounds good too, but it can be interpreted in many different ways. I just don't want you to think I'm bashing your tab, it's a great tab. So rock on dude.
