Although Timmy plays it in standard tuning it sounds ok in dropped D if u can't be arsed to change over.
 There is of course distortion in this song, if all u copycats wanna get it completely right I believe he uses 
an old Marshall Guvnor pedal which i have and sounds awseome! Also, I believe he uses a Jazz bass and occasionally
a Stingray.
