Song: Be My Escape
Band: Relient K
Album: Mmhmm
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tabbed by: Jordan Lambert
Email: tmacman001@yahoo.com
Tempo: 110 bpm
Tuning: 2 options: Standard, or ½ step down on all strings (This is easier
if you’re playing the song with many of the other songs from this album, as
they are tuned down one half step, too.) If you are playing it a half step
lower, just move everything up one fret, because I’ll tab it in standard tuning.
Notes: Ok, I have seen some good quality tabs on this song, but no one, NO ONE got the
correct. I have(Thanks monkeyarms). I also made some corrections in the second verse
to some help from imnotrichey, so thank you as well. Here you go.

Guitar 1, (1:34) Ok this is really tough to hear but I tried my best. I had to listen to
acoustic version to get some solid volume on this part. If you listen to the acoustic
you'll hear it an octave higher.

Both guitars play Riff 5 at (1:46)

Chorus B at (1:51) is a little different:
Both guitars
e|---------------------------------X-X-X-X--|
B|---------------------------------X-X-X-X--|
G|------9~--7~--9~------9~--7~--9--X-X-X-X--|

A|--7~--7~--5~--7~---9~--7~--5~--7~--|
E|--5~-------------------------------|

(2:08) Guitar 1 plays Riff 1 twice.
When Guitar 1 starts into the second time through Riff 1, Guitar 2 plays this chord and
it ring.
e|-------|
B|-------|
G|--11~--|
D|--11~--|
A|---9~--|
E|-------|

Bass only from (2:16)-(2:25)

Guitar 1, probably using an effects loop instead of playing eighth notes, plays this:
e|---9--9--9--9---9--9--9--9--|
B|--10-10-10-10---9--9--9--9--|
G|--11-11-11-11--11-11-11-11--| 2X
D|--11-11-11-11--11-11-11-11--|
A|---9--9--9--9---9--9--9--9--|
E|---X--X--X--X---X--X--X--X--|

(2:29) Both guitars play their Riff 2 twice, then do this at (2:33)
e|-------------------|
B|-------------------|
G|-------------------|
D|--9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9--|
A|--9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9--|
E|--7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7--|
pm * * * * * * * *

Ok the piano plays for most of the chorus at (2:35), but both guitars
come in for two chords:
e|----------------------------------------------------------X-X-X-X--|
B|-------------------------------------- 8 X --- 4 X -------X-X-X-X--|
G|------------11~-----------7~--------------------7---9-9---X-X-X-X--|

E|----------------------------------------7-----------------X-X-X-X--|
                                      pm * * * *
…and I’ve been dying to get out… and even though… go… going because

Last chorus at (2:53) is played just like Chorus B.

Some piano, then some more and, yes, even more piano, and just like that the song’s done
you’re on your way to becoming the next Relient K. Please rate this tab if you feel
to do so and spread the word about it. Thanks, have fun, God bless.

Great tab! there are a few tiny things wrong though
the second chord for guitar 2 in the intro should be 2-4-4 starting on the E string. In the second part of the intro guitar 1 hits the chord twice each time; it's really hard to hear but he does it. And finally, you are missing most of the guitar one part in the second prechorus (1:34). nothing really big and it's still a great tab.

Hey thanks for the feedback monkeyarms, I'll correct the 2-4-4 chord in the intro. I'll try to figure out the second prechorus, cuz it's freakin hard to hear. But I'm standing by my intro part 2 for guitar 1. In my tab, guitar 2 hits each chord twice, and only plays two chords. Guitar 1 hits three chords total, first one twice, then one for each of the others. If you listen to the CD, my Guitar 1 part on that intro should be in the right side headphone, listen for it. Thanks again.

Sorry, the Guitar part should be in the LEFT side headphone.
